Strong Kids Strong Communities

Our Strong Kids Strong Communities Campaign helps the youth in our community attend our summer camps, winter break camps, swim lessons and out-of-school programs. This year, even with the current pandemic, we provided 266 children with a memorable camp experience. This campaign also enables those with financial barriers to improve their health at the Y and provides access to specialty health programs like Turning Point for breast cancer survivors and Rock Steady Boxing for those with Parkinson’s disease. We continue to be for ALL and need your help to make this happen.

Big Brothers Big Sisters to Relocate to New Jackson YMCA Facility

The Jackson YMCA announced that local nonprofit Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) will relocate to the Y’s planned new downtown facility. The YMCA has close to $22 million raised in pledges and contributions towards the construction of a downtown healthy living campus. YMCA leaders anticipate breaking ground in the summer of 2021.

What does the Y mean to you?

When member Larry Kaiser first learned of the Jackson YMCA, he thought it was a place to swim or use the equipment. As he found out more, he said he “learned what the Y really is.” Larry’s daughter, Emily, also has seen the impact of the Y on both her father and the community and was moved to donate $10,000 to our campaign for a new facility.

YMCA Announces Construction Manager, Architect & Engineering Firm

The YMCA Board of Directors, acting on recommendations of its campaign Building and Design Committee, selected Granger Construction Co. as the project’s construction manager and Bergmann as the YMCA’s architect/engineer.
