What kids have to say!

What parents have to say!
Our three boys have varying interests and we love the variety the Jackson YMCA summer camps have to offer. Our kids enjoy the water activities, sports camps, art camps and the numerous day trips they get to take each summer. Our boys also look forward to the publication of the summer schedule and the new offerings each year, which they comb through until they pick out a variety of camps to fill their summer. Our oldest has been attending since the 2nd grade and is now part of the Counselor in Training (CIT) program. He has gained such valuable skills - diversity, teambuilding and leadership while also having fun. His experience will help prepare him for future jobs, and the skills he's gained with help him throughout high school, college and beyond. We are happy to have our sons involved with the wonderful staff and programs at the Y! Julie & Brian VanBlarcum Sons: Alex & Josh Bomia, Tyler VanBlarcum
For my kids, it’s all about the fun. For myself, as a parent, it’s all about where my children will be and what they will be doing and who with. My family has been involved in the YMCA Summer Day Camp program for quite some time, with this year going in to be the sixth year. The day camp program offers many things to its families and it is so much more than the fun excursions that each group takes each day. The staff has been nothing but friendly, courteous, and they go beyond what is expected to show a kind heart towards each and every child. When my children can name each and every counselor and have something wonderful to share about them, it means a lot to me. The YMCA has become a second family to us and I can honestly say that they have all taken a part in helping my children to become the people they are today. Not only does the program offer the fun, but they also teach and encourage respect, responsibility, compassion, and integrity. One would never know that this is all happening because the excitement of each day is so high. The emphasis is on fun, but the other things come into play each and every day, with every opportunity. I am thankful that my family has become part of the YMCA family and the memories that we have accumulated so far are nothing but wonderful! There is a place at the YMCA for everyone and I can’t imagine being anywhere else. Mother of three campers
