Turning Point
A Health and Wellness Program for Breast Cancer Survivors
Turning Point is a transformative health and wellness program created for breast cancer patients and survivors, funded by local grants and the Strong Communities annual campaign of the Jackson YMCA.
This program is designed to support both the physical and emotional well-being of participants, helping to reduce the side effects of cancer treatment and enhance long-term quality of life.
Program Benefits:
Turning Point focuses on key areas such as stress reduction, improved physical functioning, decreased fatigue, and overall better quality of life. All activities are conducted in a supportive group environment under the guidance of trained instructors.
Program Details:
• Free Access: Turning Point classes are free for all breast cancer survivors, regardless of when they were diagnosed.
• Free YMCA Membership: Survivors within five years of diagnosis are eligible for a free one-year membership to the Jackson YMCA upon enrolling in the Turning Point program. To maintain eligibility, participants receiving the free membership must attend at least four Turning Point exercise classes per month.

• When: Wednesday afternoons at 12:15 pm
• Where: Summit location
• Instructor: Michelle Woods, personal trainer and certified group fitness instructor
• Cost: Free for Turning Point members
• Registration: Not required
